This policy explains how the Prestige Skylights York website at prestigeskylightsyork.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. Some are needed for a site or a feature to work. Others remember your choices, measure how a site is used or follow you across different sites for advertising. Similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, a website must ask for your consent before setting cookies that are not strictly necessary, and must tell you clearly what it uses.
Cookies we set ourselves
This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies of its own. We do not use cookies to build a profile of you or to follow you around the internet.
The website runs on WordPress. If you simply read our pages, WordPress itself sets no cookies for visitors. Cookies that WordPress uses for logged-in administrators only apply to the people who manage the site.
The short WhatsApp form on our pages runs in your browser and sets no cookies. Nothing you type into it reaches us until you choose to send the message through WhatsApp.
Third-party content on our pages
Two features on this website load content from other providers, and those providers may set or read cookies, or collect technical information such as your IP address, when the content loads.
The enquiry form
The enquiry form that appears on our pages is embedded from our customer relationship management (CRM) provider. When it loads, the provider may set cookies that are needed for the form to work, such as cookies that protect against spam and keep your answers together while you fill it in. The information you type into the form is handled as described in our privacy policy.
The map on our contact page
The map that shows our 30-mile service area on the contact page uses map tiles from OpenStreetMap. To display the map, your browser requests the tiles from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details in the normal way. The map and its tiles load only on the contact page, and OpenStreetMap's own policies apply to the requests your browser makes to it.
If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, you leave our website and WhatsApp's own terms and cookie policy apply.
Analytics
At present we do not run analytics on this website. We may add an analytics tool in future to understand which pages are useful. If we do, we will update this policy before it goes live, explain what it collects, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Controlling cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see what cookies are stored, delete them one by one or all at once, and block cookies from particular sites or from all third parties. Your browser's help pages explain how.
If you block cookies from the enquiry form provider, the form may not work properly. You can still reach us by email at info@prestigeskylightsyork.co.uk or on WhatsApp at 07880 284133.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the way the website uses cookies changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If you have any questions, email info@prestigeskylightsyork.co.uk.
